The farm is participating in the Mammal Web project operated by Durham Wildlife Trust and the School of Biological Sciences at Durham University.

Mammal Web is a network of motion sensing 'camera traps' around County Durham to photograph and monitor wild mammals.

Visit mammalweb.org for more information and to see how you can help too.

Obtaining more knowledge about the distribution and abundance of Britain's wild mammals, and the factors affecting them, is useful for the following reasons:

  • To assist with the planning the development of infrastructure and managing wildlife disease.
  • To gain a better understanding of the ecology of these species
  • To understand their responses to current environmental changes
  • Taking photos of wild animals helps us to understand what is going on.
